Tasting Notes

The color of this wine includes an intense ruby red color with purple reflections. On the nose, you can perceive hints of berries, ripe cherries and spices. On the palate, it is a dry and soft wine with a good balance between tannins and acidity. The predominant flavors are of red fruits such as cherries, raspberries and strawberries, with a light hint of licorice. It has a persistent and pleasant aftertaste. Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOC is a versatile wine that pairs well with red meats, aged cheeses and tomato-based dishes.

Notes on food pairings

Montepulciano D'Abruzzo DOC pairs well with many Italian dishes, such as pasta with tomato sauce, lasagna, meat ragù, grilled lamb, wild boar stew, pecorino cheese and pizza margherita. In general, it is a wine that pairs well with dishes with a strong and spicy flavor, such as those of Abruzzo cuisine. Furthermore, thanks to its tannic structure, it is an excellent companion for red meat and game.

Sustainable wine

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC is a wine produced in the Abruzzo region of Italy, mainly from the grapes of the Montepulciano grape variety. The vines grow on the hills of the Abruzzo area, where the warm and dry climate, combined with the right exposure to the sun and the right altitude, favors the ripening of the grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand between the end of September and the beginning of October, when the grapes have reached the right maturity. After fermentation, the wine is left to mature in wooden barrels for a few months to give it greater aromatic and flavor complexity. Finally, the wine is bottled and left to rest for a period of refinement in the bottle, before being marketed.

WHO WE ARE

Always for Amatrice

For over 20 years we have been selecting and bringing the best products of our land to the tables of families. After the earthquake of August 24, 2016, we were forced to completely reorganize our business, facing numerous difficulties. Courage, support and love for our city have allowed us to move forward with the same determination as before. Today our shop is located inside the Il Corso Shopping Center, built temporarily to deal with the emergency. At the same time, we have created a new e-commerce to allow many people throughout Italy to purchase our products. We are still here, as we once were, to represent and promote the original gastronomic tradition of Amatrice.
